Any chance on converting these to 720p files (ideally removing the interlace noise if possible). I am getting a new camera soon and the cx7 is on the short list but need to see if it's possible to remove some interlace noise, low light with a moving object performance and focusing. So far it looks ok but not everyone has a 1920x1200 computer screen.
It looks from the pics at least and some wmv video I saw at impress that the cx7 has better focus and less interlace noise than the SD1 but more noise. Between the two I'd pick the cx7. Was the car scene shot in auto mode and would there be less noise if shot in a manual mode? Also how easy is it to autofocus or control the focus with the on screen menu system.
You know, this camcorder does not have issues with bad interlacing as UX1, SR1 and UX7 has. Even HC7 does not give such good picture. The big minus of SD1 is that it does not have good still camera. To me it's a survivor having Stills and video in one little sized package. Car scene in full auto as all the rest scenes. It's very easy to operate manual on-screen focus but I use it rarely as auto-focus works perfect.
Thanks for the reply. The still features are not so useful to me as some of the outside stills seem to have moire patterns and CA. The focus does seem much better than the SD1 and an out of focus video is useless. If you could post some 720p convertions that would be a big help also I plan on using it for posting video on the web and progressive looks better. The Canon hv20 has that but the 24fps really doesn't look good if there's a lot of movement.

I will make some 720p conversion, what video of these would you like to be converted?
I have just put new footage and 720 too. Have a look!
